Dr Craigie and Dr Fisher – first Sprint Triathlon 

We would like to congratulate Dr Craigie and Dr Fisher on completing their first Sprint Triathlon the other weekend. This was a ladies only event run by Chester Tri Club and was a very inclusive event with the ages of participants ranging from 18-70+. This was a new challenge for them both with Dr Craigie normally taking part in longer endurance events and for Dr Fisher who is an avid Park Runner (with a very good 5km time). Dr Allcock will be taking part in her first Sprint Tri in September and we wish her the best of luck for that.

Physical activity is essential for maintaining good physical and mental health. It strengthens the heart, muscles and bones whilst also helping to manage weight and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. Additionally regular exercise boosts mental wellbeing by reducing stress, anxiety and depression and improving sleep and overall mood.
