New NHS 111 Service
As from 21st March 2013 there is a new way of contacting the out of hours service which is called NHS 111 - this will replace both NHS Direct and Out of Hours - and is to be used when you need medical help fast and we are closed but it is not a 999 emergency.
Calls to NHS 111 are free and by the end of the call the patient will know what to do, where to go and in what timescale. If you call our telephone number after the surgery is closed you will be re-directed to NHS 111 - you will need to hang up and dial again.
Research has shown that when they need help patients remember their GP, A&E and 999 - consequently many patients will access A&E when other services may better suit their needs and NHS 111 is an important part of the Governments move to develop an integrated 24/7 urgent care service so that patients can access the right care at the right time and hopefully help to relieve an already overused A&E
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we will no longer be offering a Saturday surgery.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our patients
