Are you aware we have a new Nurse Triage system when booking appointments along with a Minor Illness clinic?
If you phone for an "on the day appointment" our Reception staff will ask you a few questions about why you want the appointment and will then, as appropriate, book you in either for a triage with our Practice Nurse, book you a minor illness appointment or book you an appointment with a GP.
The criteria for a minor illness appointment is (but not limited to) the following :-
- High Temperature
- Vomiting & Diarrhoea
- Flu symptoms
- Urinary problems
- Minor head injury
- Ear infection
- Emergency contraception
Our Practice Nurse is fully qualified to see you and prescribe for minor illness.
Please see below a statement from the Partners regarding our triage system:
We ask our Receptionists to gather enough information for them to do an initial assessment of where your care is best placed. If the information is of an extremely confidential nature then we understand and a clinician will call you back for further discussion.
If we are unable to offer you a suitable appointment then your request will be triaged by a nurse to assess your needs and give you the appropriate appointment or advice. This helps us to make more urgent appointments available and hopefully puts you in with the appropriate clinician to help you.
We would be grateful for your help and assistance in helping our staff to give you the best possible service.
